What the destiny and will chart is
The destiny and will chart comes from the Russian school of numerology. It reads a life as one repeating seventy-two-year cycle divided into seven twelve-year stages, and plots two levels against it on a scale of zero to nine.
The destiny line is read as the conditions arriving from outside: opportunity, timing, the help of other people, the years when things open without being forced. The will line is read as the drive you bring yourself: initiative, stamina, the willingness to decide.
The distance between the two lines is the reading. Where destiny runs above will, the method says circumstances are offering more than you are reaching for. Where will runs above destiny, you are pushing against a stage that is not answering yet — and slow results are a feature of the timing, not a verdict on the effort.
How it is calculated
Write the day and month of birth as a single four-digit number, padding a single digit with a leading zero, then multiply by the four-digit year. For September 27, 1997, that is 2709 × 1997 = 5409873. Those seven digits are the destiny code.
The will code repeats the sum with one change: every zero in the day and month is rewritten as a one. For the same date that is 2719 × 1997 = 5429843.
This is why some charts show only one line. The two codes can only differ where a zero was rewritten, so a birth date with no zero in its day or month — November 23, for example — produces two identical codes and a single line for life.
Reading the levels
A digit of 7 to 9 is a high stage, 3 to 6 a working middle, and 0 to 2 a low one. A low stage on the destiny line is not misfortune; it describes a period when nothing arrives on its own, which also means nothing is decided for you. A low stage on the will line is a stretch for recovery rather than for launching.
Crossings matter more than peaks. They mark the years the two readings swap places, and the tradition treats the months around them as a poor time for irreversible decisions and a good time to close what is already open.
