Refund Policy
What we refund, when, and why: the statutory right of withdrawal, our own fourteen-day guarantee, and the open-ended promise that a report contains what its page said it would.
There are two separate things on this page and it is worth knowing which is which. The first is your statutory right of withdrawal, which the law gives you and we cannot take away. The second is our own guarantee, which goes further than the law in some places and is ours to define. Where the two differ, whichever is more favourable to you applies.
The short version
- A reading that never arrived, or arrived late without our telling you first — refunded in full, always.
- A reading that does not contain what its product page said it would contain — refunded in full, with no time limit at all.
- A reading you could not open because something broke on our side — refunded in full, or fixed, whichever you prefer.
- A charge you do not recognise, or a duplicate — refunded in full.
- A reading that was delivered as described, and read — not refunded because the interpretation was unwelcome.
Everything below is that, explained.
Your statutory right of withdrawal, and when it ends
You have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. That applies to every consumer buying from us, wherever you live, because this contract runs under German law.
For digital content delivered the moment you ask for it, that right ends when delivery begins — provided you expressly asked for immediate delivery and acknowledged that asking ends the right. Those are the two boxes you tick immediately above the payment button. They are not pre-ticked and the order cannot proceed without them, because generating the report is precisely what ends the right, and we are not willing to do that without your having said so in terms.
So, plainly: the moment your report is generated, the statutory right of withdrawal for it is spent. Before it is generated, you may withdraw and be refunded in full, no reason required. The full instruction is on the right of withdrawal page.
For a reading written by hand, the right ends when the writing is finished, on the same basis. Before we start, withdraw freely. After we start but before we finish, you pay a proportionate amount for the work done and we refund the rest.
Our own guarantee
The statutory right ends early on almost every order here, which would leave a customer with nothing but our good intentions. So this is the part we add ourselves, and it applies even where the statutory right has already gone.
For fourteen days from your purchase, we refund in full if any of the following is true:
- the reading was never delivered;
- it was delivered after the window its product page stated, and we had not told you beforehand;
- a fault on our side stopped you opening or reading it;
- it materially does not contain what its product page described — the sections, the length, the structure, the scope;
- you were charged twice, or charged for something you did not order.
No form and no explanation are required. Email support@mymysticday.com or use the contact page, tell us which of these it is, and the refund is issued to the original card through Stripe.
And you keep the reading. Asking for a delivered report back would be theatre, and we would rather have the goodwill.
The scope guarantee, with no time limit
The fourth item on that list has no deadline at all. Each product page is a description of the work: it states the length, the structure and the sections the report contains. If what you received does not match that description, that is our error, and we refund it whenever you tell us — a month later, a year later, it does not matter. We wrote the description; we are bound by it.
What the guarantee is not for
It is not for an interpretation you did not want to read.
Readings are symbolic material for reflection. They take positions. A position you disagree with, a card that came up badly, a chart that says something about you that you would rather it did not — that is the product working rather than failing, and it is not a defect. The disclaimer and section 4 of the terms say the same thing at greater length, and they say it before you buy, not after.
It is likewise not for a reading that turned out not to predict the future, because nothing here predicts the future and we say so on every page that could be mistaken for doing it. And it is not for a chart calculated correctly from a birth time you entered incorrectly — though tell us, because we will recalculate it for you for nothing rather than refund it.
Goodwill
Outside all of the above, we may still refund an order simply because the circumstances warrant it. That is a decision we make case by case, and doing it once does not create an entitlement to have it done again. If your situation is not on the list, write to us anyway and say what happened.
Subscriptions
Cancelling a subscription stops the next charge and leaves you full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. It is not a request for a refund of the period already running, and that period is not normally refunded in part.
Two exceptions. If you withdraw within fourteen days of subscribing, you pay a proportionate amount for the days you had access and we refund the balance — less the value of any premium report generated for you in that time, because the withdrawal right for that report ended when it was generated. And if the service was materially unavailable for a meaningful part of a paid period, we extend the period or refund it pro rata, at your choice.
Cancellation is in your account settings, takes the same number of clicks as subscribing did, and needs no email to us.
Free tools
Public card meanings, horoscopes, compatibility pages, calculators, birth-chart previews, deep-spread position guides and the eight everyday tarot readings are free, so nothing on this page applies to those free pages or results. This policy does apply to clearly priced deep tarot readings, complete private reports and subscriptions.
How long a refund takes
The refund is submitted to Stripe immediately, usually the same business day. Card issuers typically return the money within five to ten business days, which is outside our control. You are told by email when we submit it, so you are never waiting without knowing whether anything happened.
Please tell us before you tell your bank
If something is wrong, one email fixes it, usually within the day. A dispute raised with your bank instead takes weeks, costs us a fee whatever the outcome, and gets you your money no faster than we would have.
We contest disputes raised on orders that were properly delivered and are not defective, and where one is raised without our having heard from you first, we may suspend the account until it is resolved and claim the fees the payment provider charges us — with your right to show the amount was smaller. That is the whole of it, and it applies to nobody who writes to us first. Your right to raise a genuine dispute with your bank is untouched, and this page is not a charge for exercising it.
Repeated refunds
This guarantee is written on the assumption that it is used honestly, and almost everybody does. Where the pattern shows otherwise — refunds taken repeatedly across orders, fresh accounts or cards opened after refunds, a refunded report passed on to someone else — we may decline a further voluntary refund and decline further orders. Your statutory rights are unaffected by this paragraph, and always will be.
